Nigerian–Hungarian Water Forum held in Abuja
The Nigerian–Hungarian Water Forum was held on 4 November 2025 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, organised by the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation of Nigeria. The event was opened by Joseph T. Utsev, Nigeria’s Minister of Water Resources, and Lóránd Endreffy, Ambassador of Hungary.
The Forum brought together representatives of numerous Nigerian governmental institutions, water authorities, as well as Hungarian and Nigerian companies active in the sector. Its primary objective was to enhance the visibility of Hungarian water-industry technologies and engineering expertise within the Nigerian professional environment. A highlight of the day was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the National Water Resources Institute of Nigeria, opening new prospects for training and knowledge exchange. The event welcomed approximately 150 participants.
