It was a great pleasure to welcome a full house last night at the Thought Pyramid Art Centre in Abuja for the presentation of the book As the Rivers Merge by Hungarian-Nigerian author Dr. Daniel Mamah.
Dr. Mamah’s book tells the true story of the author’s Nigerian father and Hungarian mother — a narrative shaped by history, courage, faith, and unconditional love. It reminds us that true understanding between cultures is not built solely through policies, but through honest stories that touch hearts across borders.
The event formed part of the cultural events of the European Union Month, and we at the Embassy of Hungary are proud to have contributed with a story that speaks deeply to the power of cultural connection, identity, and personal resilience.
The venue provided a truly inspiring and dignified setting for this special occasion, which began with a cocktail reception featuring Hungarian wines.
We were honored by the presence of leaders from both the Association of Nigerian Authors and the Nigerian Publishers Association, to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks for their interest and support.
We sincerely hope that following its publication in the United States and Hungary, this important book will soon be made available to Nigerian readers as well. It deserves to be read widely.
Warm thanks to Dr. Mamah who has travelled to Nigeria from the United States with his lovely family to share his story with us, and to everyone who joined us for this memorable evening.
