Appointment booking

Consular services are strictly by appointment only. Appointments can be booked directly through our Appointment Booking System: http://ifr.mfa.gov.hu. Please select English as your language and Abuja as your Customer Service.

One person may book one appointment and one case type at a time. The booking is to be made for the name of the applicant (not the proxy, sponsor, agent etc.). All applicants are required to book their individual appointment for each of their cases, i.e. it is not allowed to book a single appointment for multiple applicants or for multiple cases. The Consular Section may delete any irregular appointments without further notice.

Applications may be submitted up to six months and at least 15 calendar days before the planned date of travel. The Consular Section is not obliged to accept applications submitted less than 15 days before the planned date of travel. Fast-tracking or expedited appointments and procedures are not available.

In case of an unannounced no-show, where the applicant does not cancel the appointment in time, any further appointments may be deleted without further notice.

Please make sure that you arrive in time for your appointment. Arriving late may result in prolonged waiting time or denial of entry past office hours.

Some cases may involve evaluation or decision-making in Hungary. The Consular Section does not have any jurisdiction over this part of the procedure and cannot provide any updates on the progress of cases processed in Hungary. Whenever updates are available or further action from the applicant or the Consular Section is required, an email notification will be sent to the contacts provided upon submission.
