Diplomatic authentication
Only original documents issued by the Nigerian, Camernoonian, Beninese, or Gabonese authorities and authenticated by the Nigerian, Cameroonian, Beninese, or Gabonese Ministry of Foreign Affairs can be given provided with diplomatic authentication by the Consular Section.
Submission of documents for authentication is preferred by the client in person.
Alternatively, in case the client cannot bring the document for authentication in person, it can also be submitted and collected by a proxy with an authorization letter. The authorization letter is expected to contain the document or list of documents submitted, the procedure applied for, the personal details of the client as well as the proxy and the period of validity of the letter signed both by the authorizer and two witnesses. The authorization is valid only in original copy and together with the copy of the ID or international passport data page of the client, as well as with the original ID or international passport of the proxy.

Signature authentication
The Consular Section may authenticate the personal signature of the client, as long as it is made before the consular officer. This case type may be part of certain other cases, in which exceptional instants it is not necessary to book an extra appointment.

Translation authentication/Authenticated translation
Following a thorough double-check, the Consular Section may authenticate the translation of a document provided by the client or make the authenticated translation in exceptional cases by the celection of the consular officer.

Copy authentication
Following a thorough double-check, the Consular Section may authenticate the copy of a document provided by the client or make the authenticated copy.
