In response to the invitation of Governor Dr. Alex Otti, a delegation from the Embassy visited Abia State on 4 August 2023, led by Dr. Gábor Krauss Chargé d'Affaires. During the visit, the Hungarian delegation held discussions with the Governor and several members of his cabinet on the possibilities for economic cooperation.
During the meeting, Hungarian business opportunities were presented in detail, which could respond to the challenges of the region, taking into account local specificities, and could focus on Hungarian companies that already have a reference in Nigeria or are open to setting up a local production unit as a new market entrant.
The economic linkages being developed will allow Hungary and Hungarian companies to position themselves more strongly in the South-East region of Nigeria, primarily in the areas of health, education, water treatment and energy production.
