Following the release of the  Hungarian maize varieties (ZUMA 450 and ZUMA 500), trials on more Hungarian seed varieties will start from February 2024. The seeds have just arrived to Nigeria and been handed over to National Agricultural Seed Council, our institutional partner and to SC Agric Invest Ltd, our implementing partner in Kano. Trials on Hungarian wheat, sorghum, pepper, tomato, cabbage, watermelon, and cucumber varieties will be coordinated by Nigerian experts in various locations in Northern Nigeria. The project is supported by the NEXT-KPI programme of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Affairs.
